There was a very warm response to the Frederick Noronha's report of the study of impoverished Indian children taking readily to computers (see Papyrs News, November 12, in the Papyrus News archives at http://www.lll.hawaii.edu/web/faculty/markw/papyrus-news.html).

See exact link here: https://members.tripod.com/vstevens/papyrus/99nov11a.htm - Vance, Ed.

I finally tracked down the reference to the study. It was apparently published in the June 1999 issues of CSI Communications (p. 12-16), published by the Computer Society of India <http://www.csi-india.org> or <csi@bom2.vsnl.net.in>.

Unfortunately, while I've tracked down the reference, I haven't tracked down the article! Perhaps if any of you actually find the article, please let me know.
