Are you a communications professional working on sustainable development? Do you use the Internet in your work?

If so, visit the SD Webworks [Sustainable Development Webworks], a new online community sharing knowledge about using the Internet more effectively for sustainable development.

Issues the SD Webworks will address include:

* What policies, practices and attitudes help organizations get information to the Web quickly and reliably? When do you need to hire staff and when is it better to outsource?

* How do you get started developing your organization's first Web site? How do you redesign the 5,000-file monster your site has become?

* What are some of the best sustainable development Web sites and what can we learn from them?

* How can you use multimedia, forums and databases more effectively? What resources are required to create more advanced Web products and services?

* How do you market your online products and services? How do you know what impact they are having on decision- making?

We'd love to hear your experiences...successes as well as disappointments. The SD Webworks includes both a Web site and a discussion forum.

The SD Webworks is a service of the Sustainable Development Communications Network (formerly the Spinning the Web Network) and was made possible with support from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The SDCN was established in May 1998 to help develop joint communications projects and to share knowledge among a global network of leading sustainable development organizations. More information about the SDCN is available at <http://sdgateway.net/noframe/project.htm>
