I guess thinking about anthrax has made me philosophical...

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared
to what lies within us.
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Far better an approximate answer to the right question, which is often
vague, than an exact answer to the wrong question, which can always be made
precise.
-- John W. Tukey
Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.
-- W. B. Yeats
Perhaps the greatest of all pedagogical fallacies is the notion that a
person learns only the particular thing he is studying at the time.
--
John Dewey
Look to this day In it lies all the realities and verities of
existence, the bliss of growth, the splendor of action, the glory of power. For
yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is only a vision. But today, well-lived,
makes every yesteday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope.
--- Sanskrit Proverb
**Whether you believe you can or you can't, you're probably right.
**The elevator to success is out of order. You have to take the stairs, one step at a time.

The Path of Life
As raindrops gather in the hills and flow into a stream
So do the
droplets of our hopes come together in our dreams
And forge a little creek
and then a river that runs strong
Flowing down this path of dreams toward
everything we long.
Friendship, health, adventure come so easily it seems
As we barrel
toward the sea on the rapids of our dreams
Romance and excitement--success
we have that too
As we move with confidence on a path that seems so true.
But the path of life and not of dreams it seems is not so straight
Obstacles abound and divert us from our fate
Rocks and wind and stormy
days block us from our end
And our river must change course before it flows
downhill again.
But maybe on those stormy days our true course can be found
For the
path of life and not of dreams is not straight but is round
A cycle of
discovery that renews itself each day
Revealing life's true splendor in a
million special ways.
So savor every obstacle that you may come upon
Seek new paths with
joy and your own true way may dawn.
