Papyrus News
vacation mail

February 14, 2001: This message was distributed by Papyrus News. Feel free to forward this message to others, preferably with this introduction. For info on Papyrus News, including how to (un)subscribe or access archives, see <http://www.gse.uci.edu/markw/papyrus-news.html>.

This is a note to PN subscribers who use vacation mail to automatically reply to your email messages when you are out of town. PLEASE set up your vacation mail so that it only replies to messages sent to you individually, NOT to messages from lists such as Papyrus News. I get several of these automatic replies a day and it gets to be rather inconvenient. Most vacation mail systems have the flexibility to make this adjustment; please talk to your network administrator if you don't know how to do it.

Thanks,
Mark

ps Please don't write to me to ask me about what vacation mail is or how to use it or how to change your settings if you already have it. Discuss this with your network administrator.
