Ying-Lan: ^I don't think it will be fixed.

Maggi: I always have to trs first...

Ying-Lan: ^Last month, we just throw it out in my office.

Maggi: try

Maggi: I fixed the mouse

Maggi: a track ball...it works again!

Ying-Lan: ^Like you, maggi... the young gild spilled the water in the keyboard.

Vance: What was wrong with the mouse?

Ying-Lan: ^maggi, you are so......... nice.

Ying-Lan: ^Good fingers.

Maggi: it had water in it too

Maggi: I took it apart and cleaned it.

Maggi: iky poo...

Vance: In that case there was no electrical short. But with a keyboard ...

Maggi: now it works better!

Maggi: yeh..my favorite keyboard...

Maggi: this is the pits

Ying-Lan: ^Which one works?

Ying-Lan: ^the mouse or the killboard?

Maggi: my track ball works better now Yying.

Maggi: the killboard...that is good

Maggi: :-)

Maggi: I'd like to kill it---

Ying-Lan: kill?

Maggi: but then I couldn't talk...

Maggi: nah...not really...

Maggi: I am a pacifist...

Vance: sorry, new teachers here trying to figure things out ... brb

Ying-Lan: ^But You want to kill it... are you a pacifist?

Ying-Lan: ^"ants" , "mositque

Ying-Lan: mosqito

Ying-Lan: maggi, I have a question about the preposistion.

Maggi: I let the spiders eat the mosquitos :-)

Ying-Lan: spiders?

Maggi: prepositions are always a problem...

Ying-Lan: Do you feed the spiders?

Ying-Lan: ^"I can't understand why people are frightened by new ideas. I'm frightened of old ones" John Cage.

Maggi: the things that crawl...with eight legs

Maggi: The spiders catch and eat the mosquitos

Ying-Lan: ^Do you notice the "... by new ideas" and "... of old one".

Maggi: that is correct

Ying-Lan: that's correct... which one?

Ying-Lan: ^Where do you get these spiders?

Maggi: oh...they justz show up

Maggi: just

Maggi: both are correct

Ying-Lan: hi

Maggi: hi

Ying-Lan: Sorry... I read a comic

Maggi: what kind of comic?

Ying-Lan: ^"How long you in for"? "They gave me 10 to 20"

Maggi: people in prison?

Ying-Lan: ^"Whice is it, 10 or 20?" "I could be out in 8?" , maggi , yes. two people in prison.

Ying-Lan: ^"Then you're in for 8!", "Depends on good beharior".

Maggi: what are they in prison for?

Ying-Lan: Chatting.

Maggi: chatting?!

Ying-Lan: ^There was a bad news happened in Taiwan.

Maggi: what?

Ying-Lan: ^Taipei, June 25- A serviceman posted at the Armed Forces Museum confessed to strangling a high school student to death and raping her corpse in the museum director's offce.

Maggi: eeee...that is not good news.

Ying-Lan: ^People asked where is safe for gilrs...

Ying-Lan: ^People asked where is safe for girls...?

Maggi: this is true

Ying-Lan: ^"The brutal crime sent shockwaves through the upper levels of government. The Ministry of National Defense issued a statment saying that museum director, who fialed to report key evidence, would be

Ying-Lan: ^Immediately removed from his post and face severe disciplinary meausres."

Ying-Lan: ^She is only 18...

Ying-Lan: ^The crime is a 21-year-old

Ying-Lan: ^So sad.

Ying-Lan: ^ I just read the newspaper in English...

Maggi: that is sad

Maggi: so young

Ying-Lan: ^Why??????

Maggi: why what?

Ying-Lan: ^A man can not control his sex force desire....

gloria: @64,64 !It's gloria

Ying-Lan: ^Can a man control his sex force desire?

gloria: Hi everybody!

Ying-Lan: ^Can a man not control his sex force desire?

Maggi: HI Gloriq

Maggi: oops Gloria

Ying-Lan: Hi, gloria. good works.

gloria: How are you?

Ying-Lan: ^I mean your email sent to the efigroup.

Ying-Lan: ^not so good.

Ying-Lan: ^We were talking about a bad news in Taiwan.

gloria: why not so good?

Maggi: yes, Ying I think they should be punished when they can't.

gloria: bad news??

Ying-Lan: ^About the girl was dead.

Ying-Lan: ^I show you again.

Ying-Lan: ^Taipei, June 25- A serviceman posted at the Armed Forces Museum confessed to strangling a high school student to death and raping her corpse in the museum director's offce.

Ying-Lan: ^The brutal crime sent shockwaves through the upper levels of government. The Ministry of National Defense issued a statment saying that museum director, who fialed to report key evidence, would be

Ying-Lan: ^Immediately removed from his post and face severe disciplinary meausres."

^She is only 18... ^The crime is a 21-year-old

gloria: It is always happening

Ying-Lan: sorry, maggi.

gloria: I wonder why

Felix: @64,64 !It's Felix

Ying-Lan: I don't understand why the man can not control the ses force desire.

Ying-Lan: sex

Felix: Evening/Afternoon/Morning

Maggi: it is not easy for men Ying...

Ying-Lan: Really????

Maggi: Hi Felix

Maggi: it is biological

Ying-Lan: ^But if they could not do it, the women will be hurt.

Felix: What is the subject here?

Felix: .................

Maggi: not a good subject for a man...:-)

Ying-Lan: a bad news

gloria: @64,64 !It's gloria

Maggi: this will hurt Felix too.

gloria: back again

Felix: what??

Felix: What will hurt me?

Vance: Hi everyone. I'm back

Felix: Hi Vance.

Felix: Hi Gloria

Vance: wow, what are you guys talking about. I'm just reading the log!

gloria: Hi Felix! you look like Travolta today

Felix: I am eager to find out Vance, but they didnt tell me yet

Felix: Really Gloria.. But it's a fake JT... hehe

Felix: Why everyone is so quiet??

Ying-Lan: ^Hi, Felix... I just sen you the url talking about the bad news.

Felix: oh ok ying

Ying-Lan: ^Hi, Felix... I just sent you the url talking about the bad news.

Ying-Lan: ^May I ask a question?

Ying-Lan: ^Did you read the email which I sent to egoup?

Felix: who Ying? Me?

Vance: Of course. I read everything I receive.

Ying-Lan: ^But nobody ..... reply it.

Michael C: @64,64 !It's Michael C

Ying-Lan: hi, Michaelc.

Vance: Which one, Ying Lan?

Maggi: Hi Michael...

Vance: Hi MC

Ying-Lan: the conversation of ally.

Michael C: Evening everyone.

Ying-Lan: ^ I am hungry now.

gloria: Hi!

Vance: Let me listen to it again here ...

Felix: Ying what is the headline you are talking about ? (the url you just sent me)

Ying-Lan: ^let me show it again.

Ying-Lan: ^Taipei, June 25- A serviceman posted at the Armed Forces Museum confessed to strangling a high school student to death and raping her corpse in the museum director's offce.

Felix: I couldn't understand ally.. There's so much background noise

Michael C: Yuk.

Vance: YL mentioned a violent crime and from that incident asked whether men can control their sexual desires.

Ying-Lan: ^I am very sad for the news.

Michael C: Of course normal men can.

Vance: It is interesting that women are not prone to violent sexual crime.

Felix: I cant find it Ying

Ying-Lan: ^Why he wanted to kill the lovely girl under his sexual desires, ]

Ying-Lan: ^What you could not find?

Felix: the headline

Ying-Lan: ^the head line is "Defense minister apologizes for murder "

Felix: He is probably sick Ying.... I dont know how someone can get excited watching the suffering of another.. It's sickness!!!

Michael C: He is most definitely sick.

Ying-Lan: ^I juse typed the news which I read in newspaper in English.

Ying-Lan: ^Her mother asked the minister "Where is safe for girls in Taiwan?"

Ying-Lan: ^We also asked the same quesiton.

Vance: Unfortunately, this kind of crime is not all that uncommon in the USA.

Felix: rape happens all over the world.... Even in my town it happens.

Felix: But I;'ve never heard of a girl's rapist.... Have you?

Vance: One thing I like about Abu Dhabi is that it would be VERY uncommon here. But rape occurs here too. It's occasionally even reported in the papers.

Ying-Lan: ^Soooo... I just asked why a man can not himself?

Vance: Is it the first time anything like this has hapened in Taiwan?

Ying-Lan: ^Soooo... I just asked why a man can not control himself?

Ying-Lan: ^no.. but it is the first thing happend in museum.

Maggi: thqt is a good question guys..

Felix: I wouldn't rape anyone. I dont think i would get "ready" in a situation like that.

Ying-Lan: ^^In the Armed Froces Museum... he is a 21-year-old army orderly on duty at the museum.

Michael C: Why just ask the guys Maggie?

Felix: Because we rape Michael.. or HAve you ever heard of a girl raping a boy?

Ying-Lan: ^Felix.. good one.

Vance: Who wrote the book, Against our Will? It's about a history of rape.

Michael C: No. i have heard of women sexually harassing men but that's not the same thing. I just don't think men have the answer to this question and nor do women.

Felix: But sometimes things happens too.. Like.. A couple is making out.. And when they are almost there, the girls says no....In this case, well, it's hard to control, because sometimes a no means a yes

Ying-Lan: I just think it is terrible.

Maggi: ever heard of a man being raped?

Michael C: I don't know the book Vance.

Michael C: IMHO these things always go back to the way people are treated as children.

Felix: Maggi, first it's hard to rape a man, because if one doesn't get excited how come it will happen the intercourse.. With a girl, it's eaiser,,, Just open her legs.

Michael C: A bad upbringing = neurotic dysfunctional adult.

Michael C: Not always, but often this is the result.

Felix: Michael and Vance, do you agree with me when I said that a no could mean a yes?

Maggi: it is more than just upbringing Michael

Felix: Vance is quiet

Vance: Let's ask the girls. Does 'no' ever mean 'yes'?

Ying-Lan: ^No...

gloria: a no means no!! definitely

Ying-Lan: ^Absolutely ... no is no.

Michael C: I think you have the answer Felix.

Maggi: a no is no

Felix: Gloria? What's your opinion?

Vance: Except, I know what Felix is talking about. Sometimes it's still negotiable. But No is no when the negotiation is over.

Ying-Lan: a no is no.

Maggi: this is a false perception men hqave

Felix: We have to watch the intonation of the "NO"... Do you agree Vance?

Michael C: *Some* men have!

Maggi: no Felix

Maggi: a no is a no

Maggi: no matter what inflection

Felix: It could be a matter of culture too Maggi

Maggi: we are trained to please men

Maggi: no

Maggi: nothing to do with culture

Ying-Lan: ^When I don't like a man... I don't want to talk to him.. the only word is no.

Maggi: but being humqn

Maggi: humqn

Vance: I have known a woman to say no, but change her mind.

Maggi: ahhh humqn

Maggi: stupid keyboard

Felix: Of course Maggi.. I know a lot of girls that at first say no.. to kiss, to go out, to make love or something.. But then it turned out ok.. They accepted it, they just wanted to make things harder and

Felix: more exciting.

Maggi: ask yourself why Vanceß

Ying-Lan: ^Felix... in the past , o.k.?

Ying-Lan: ^It is history...

Felix: Not in the past Ying.... Last week is the past?

Maggi: this is not true---

Felix: yes it is Maggi..

Maggi: it is what men think

Felix: How come it turned out ok afterwards?

Michael C: *Some* men think!

Maggi: you should listen to women talk together about men

Vance: why? I think it's what Felix has said ... the only time I experienced this was at a very young age, when the girls were concerned not to appear to easy, but they might really want to enjoy themselves

Vance: too easy

Ying-Lan: ^When I say no ... but I maybe change my mind next minute

Ying-Lan: ^When I say no it is no... but I maybe change my mind next minute

Maggi: yes Michael some do---they are far and few in between the rest

Ying-Lan: so

Felix: I will tell you what happened here a year ago...

gloria: Maybe I desire but I don´t want it can you understand?

gloria: then I say no

Maggi: they were inexperienced themselves Vance...and curious

Felix: A woman was in a bar, with short clothes on

gloria: it is my right

Maggi: yes it is Gloria...and it should be respected

Maggi: then she was asking for trouble Felix

Vance: I think that with a mature women, a no is no (and a yes, is yes, happily) ... young people, men and women, don't always know what they want

Felix: She acted like a bitch.....

Felix: She made come-ons, and then when a man tried to.... She complained it to a policeman....

Maggi: true Vance...

Felix: In front of the judge.. The judge reprimend her because she was really asking for trouble.

Maggi: these kind of women make it a problem fopr the rest of us

Vance: curiosity and inexperience are a confusing combination

Felix: I TOTALLY agree with you Vance

Maggi: true

Ying-Lan: it is true.

Maggi: so we sho9uld teach our young better

Michael C: But I'm sure the woman in the bar didn't want to be raped Felix.

Maggi: I teach my son

Felix: But rapes happens.... And it's unacceptable.. But sometimes the girl provokes it..

Ying-Lan: provoke?

Maggi: very seldom...often she is unaware she is provoking

gloria: it is not true Felix

Felix: Who knows Michaels? Maybe she got excited in a situation like that

Michael C: No way Felix - that is no excuse.

Felix: Yes, ying provoke.. Like the girl I meantioned before,.. She was provoking something

Maggi: we feel thaqt our society protects us...there are laws.

Felix: It's not an excuse Michael.. It's a kind of taste

Maggi: it is an excuse Felix

Ying-Lan: ^She just wanted to show herself... she might think she was pretty.. and tried to prove it.

Felix: But in my opinion 90 % of the rapes are unacceptable.. but there's 10% that I blame the woman.

Maggi: because we think men should be able to control their biology...

Michael C: All rape is unacceptable - end of story!

Ying-Lan: ^yes.

Maggi: some can't

gloria: You don´t have the right to touch no matter what I´m doing!

Maggi: I agree Michael

Felix: as I told you before Michael I wouldn't get excited doing that.. But there are men and WOMEN that get excited.... Sexual tastes are there,,, stranges,,,, but present in the world

Maggi: then let them do it with each other.

Ying-Lan: ^oh.....

Michael C: The hidden agenda here is power. Men are physically stronger and should NEVER exercsie that power.

Maggi: yes, I agree...it is a power thing

Felix: It's not a matter of power Michael... It's a matter of respect

Ying-Lan: respect.

Maggi: no Felix it is power .. and possesion

Michael C: Forced sex is all to with power.

Michael C: ..all to do with power and having control over the other person.

Felix: I think it's too wild.....

Maggi: like a lot of relationships

Maggi: not wild..

Maggi: it is true

Felix: are we talking about general ppl? or are you including the weirdos too (men and women) ?

Maggi: this applies to everyone

Vance: Now, the other side of the coin, is when people think it's not ok to have sex with willing partners. Like with Pres. Clinton and Monica for example. Is there anything wrong with such activities?

Felix: I dont see anything wrong about that ..

Maggi: when both consent no

Michael C: You take the risks and suffer the consequences!

Maggi: but you also have to consider who could be hurt when you indulge in such activities

Felix: Honestly, in Brazil, a situation like that wouldn't happen. No one will be impeached by an extra-relationship..

Michael C: That's where it gets really tricky! Who might get hurt?

Maggi: well...the rest of the world handles it differently Felix

gloria: You have to think twice

Felix: I say what I experience Maggi... Each part of the world has it's view. I am showing what we might think in Brazil

Maggi: and twice again!

Vance: If no one makes a big deal about it, then no one is hurt.

Felix: Let's answer a personal question now?

gloria: when you represent a country a bigger responsability is over your shoulders

Maggi: exactly...but more than a big deal was made in the US and a lot of people were hurt.

Michael C: Depends Felix!

Felix: Who here never cheated on his/her partner?

Maggi: My ex cheated on me first...

gloria: what is cheater?

Maggi: someone who keeps it secret

Vance: He means, if you are committed to one person, and if you join with another.

Michael C: "Let those among you who are innocent cast the first stone." (Jesus Christ)

Ying-Lan: ^I am single... Felix.

Maggi: me too no9w

Maggi: now

Vance: Maggi, did you mean it's not cheating as long as you don't lie about it?

Felix: Michael you've got it.. I was thinking about that versiculus right now.

Ying-Lan: )AMEN

Maggi: I am innocent but I would never cast a stone

gloria: I´m not married but I never did it to my boyfriend

Maggi: that is a hard one Vance...

Felix: cheating doesnt happen only between wife/husband.. Boyfriend/girlfriend too

Michael C: I have cheated on someone but like Maggie, only after it was done to me first.

gloria: I would not cast a stone to anyone

Felix: But you cheated (michael and Maggi)... So there's no excuse who cheated first.

Michael C: This is true Felix!

Maggi: oh yes there is

Maggi: Felix

Michael C: So we disagree Maggie!

Maggi: it took me 6 years to do it

Michael C: It took me 6 months.

Felix: It's like if your partner kill your brother Maggi.. He's a criminal.. And just to revenge you kiss his brother... You will be as criminal as he is. Got it ?

Maggi: by that time the relationship was finished anyway

Felix: See what I mean when I said it a matter of culture too.... Latin cheats so easily.....

Maggi: two wrongs do not make a right..true

Maggi: but killing is different

Felix: Of course not Maggi...

Michael C: Is that true Felix? Do Latin people chaet on each other more than orher races you think?

gloria: It is different Felix

Felix: killing/cheating... someone got hurt

Maggi: there is a big difference between killing and cheating

Felix: YEs, I think so Michael,, Or maybe they show it more than the others (fake puristism)

gloria: latin men mostly

Maggi: Italians do...but it is changing

Maggi: others do too, but they keep quiet about it

Felix: Maggi, to tell you the truth, in Brazil nowadays women are cheating as much as men..... Things are changing

Maggi: and why not...if men can do it?

Felix: That's a matter of the "macho" (about not keeping quiet)

Michael C: Well an interesting (and related) fact is that here in Australia most divorces are initiated by women.

Felix: in Brazil too Michael

Maggi: why do you think that is Micha3l?

Vance: Who are these men cheating WITH? There has to be a woman for each cheating man.

Maggi: oops..LOL Vance must be saving

Michael C: Lots of reasons maggie. Basically i thnk marriage suits men more thanb women. Women are better off without it!

Vance: saving? coming right up.

Maggi: true...but there are more women in the world Vance...

Felix: Vance..... Things are changing too..... Men are cheating with another men and women are cheating with another women

Felix: in time: not in my case. hehe

Michael C: Unmarried women live longer than married women.

Maggi: I read that it affects our health differently

Vance: The point is, it's not just the men or just the women. It has to be about 50:50.

Maggi: right!

Maggi: but single men don't

Michael C: Married women die younger; married men live longer!

Ying-Lan: ^I agree Vance's opinion.

Michael C: So Ying - stay single!

Felix: singe men don't What maggi?

Maggi: you read the same article Michael!

Ying-Lan: ^it is better to be staying single.

Ying-Lan: ^The only problem... I love children.

Felix: Marriage has its pro and cons.. But I prefer to be married

Michael C: I thnk there are many articles Maggie. the data is fairly well known these days.

Michael C: Children take years off your life Ying!

Felix: if I got a divorce I would marry again.. Being lonely is not that good.

Ying-Lan: ^It doesn't matter with the gender...

Maggi: I have more time for me Felix...because I don't have to care for q mqn too

Michael C: Men can't cope with lonliness; women can.

Vance: I think it's great being married and having children. Even if they bring troubles, they also bring pleasure and everyone needs the experience (or you wonder what you missed).

Maggi: oops care for a man too

Felix: But it's not that good to grow old alone Maggi.

Ying-Lan: ^ vance... It only happend with the Mr. right.

Maggi: well...I will find out

Maggi: and I agree about the children

Ying-Lan: ^Who is Mr. Right in my life? I wonder.

Michael C: We'll be here for you Maggie!

Maggi: that's right

Felix: Hey? You are the second on the list Michael. I arrive first. hehe

Maggi: friends then are important

Vance: Loneliness depends on what you do to distract yourself. If I'm traveling, I can be alone but not be lonely. If I'm at home alone, I get lonely.

Michael C: LOL.

Maggi: :-)

Michael C: I *love* being home alone. It almost never happens.

Vance: Wouldn't it be amazing if Ying Lan met Mr. Right in this class?

Maggi: why the difference Vance?

Ying-Lan: who knows?

Felix: We have a saying in brazil maggi... If we don't screw a friend, are you going to do it with an enemy?

Ying-Lan: You ?

Maggi: yes it would be great!

Michael C: Yes - we should all look for Mr Right among EFI students!

Ying-Lan: I am scare...

Vance: You get lonely only when you aren't busy. When traveling, you are busy with many new experiences.

Maggi: find me one too?

Michael C: LOL

Maggi: I am always busy

Michael C: OK maggie.

Maggi: 7 years younger please

Michael C: Gloria - would you like a Mr Right too?!

Felix: hmmmmmmmmm who want a mango juice??

gloria: of course :)

Ying-Lan: gloria... has a boyfriend.

Maggi: Goria has one already..

Michael C: 7 years younger than you Maggie?

Maggi: yep

Vance: Gloria, you mentioned a boyfriend. Is he Mr. Right?

gloria: no I havent

Felix: 27 - 42 = 7 hehehe

Vance: Oh, an ex-boyfriend then?

gloria: I had a boyfriend not now

Ying-Lan: Felix..you are 27

Maggi: good

Maggi: Felix

Felix: yes ying i am

Michael C: Why 7 years Maggie?

gloria: I´m 29 but I´m looking for someone older than me

Maggi: then we can die together...women live an average of 7 years longer

Ying-Lan: ^gloria..Sorry.. I just remembered your words.

Michael C: OK - got it!

Ying-Lan: death and marriage...

Michael C: So Felix is too young for Gloria. Bad luck Felix!

gloria: yes too young.. :)

Felix: yeah....Gloria is so beautiful.. snif snif

Maggi: if we aqre going to get old together I don't want to be left dancing alone at the old folks home

Michael C: A baby boy.

Ying-Lan: ^Felix.. can not chase any ladies.. he is married.

Vance: GLoria, do people expect you to get married soon?

Michael C: Then come online on Sundays!

Maggi: LOL

Felix: LOL@Michael

gloria: they do..

Michael C: That's right Ying! But he is latin so maybe he cheats....!

Ying-Lan: o.k.

Felix: Gloria, haven't you ever thought of an exception?? lol

Maggi: don't worry Gloria...I was 31 when I had my son

Ying-Lan: ^I am 35.. do you think I get the chance to have a baby...?

Felix: Bad Michael

gloria: Not a married "exception" :)

Felix: good way out Gloria

Maggi: sure Ying

Michael C: Just kidding Felix.

Ying-Lan: Srue?

Maggi: a friend was 38

Maggi: you still have time

Ying-Lan: ^Maggi, you mean I have two years to fine Mr. Right. LOL>

Maggi: go to a sperm bank ;-)

Felix: second time: Does anyone want a mango juice ?

Maggi: sure

Ying-Lan: mango juice?

Michael C: Well I'd better go and do some other stuff. This has been great! (No mango juice for me Felix - I'll wet the bed!)

Felix: Maggi I think we can help YIng. She doesnt need to go to a bank.. (Just kidding Ying)

Maggi: ROTFL

Ying-Lan: All right...

gloria: Bye Michael

Vance: Bye mc

Ying-Lan: I am hungry.. I have not eaten my dinner.

Michael C: Good night everyone. have a good week.

Maggi: We need to send Michael diapers

Felix: nite mivhael

Felix: lol
